Summer of 2013 – An unique bicycle exhibition

The museum displayed bicycles from the 1860s to the early 20th century. The exhibition attracted a lot of new visitors because interest in the bicycle as a means of transport is increasing all the time.

Motala is also a cycling city with the Vätternrundan, which attracts over 75 thousand visitors every year. In the exhibition we had several interesting bicycles such as the “Benskakaren” from 1869, a wooden bicycle with pedals on the front wheels. We also had several high-wheelers, the tallest of which has a 54-inch wheel diameter.
